On October 2, I am running the Twin Cities Marathon for the HOPE Center to help prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence. I have dedicated myself to daily training amidst the blazing, humid summer heat, while HOPE Center staff have dedicated their selves to 24 hour services offered 365 days of the year. I dare you to be as wild.
Whether you are fast or slow, skinny or round, hairy or bald, athletic or an awesome computer programmer, you can be a part of a team that is helping provide advocacy for survivors of these crimes.
Join me for my second marathon by supporting our mission to provide survivors with necessary resources, train sustainable area advocates and leaders, and organize community based awareness events. I'll do the sweaty 26.2 mile part. You make a donation on my behalf. Uncle Sam has even agreed to make it tax-deductable.
$50 gives a woman and her children one night of safe housing.
My personal goal is to raise $2,000. That would change the lives of 40 families.
Click on the link to donate today. Your name will go on a list that will be in my sweaty pocket during the race.
